Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about LeMoove, grouped by topic. Each answer points to the page or guide with the details.

Getting started

Is LeMoove free?

Yes. The Free plan includes real-time location, everyone's battery level, 1 group, 2 places with alerts and 1 day of history. The Basic and Complete plans unlock more and are purchased through the App Store or Google Play.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. LeMoove is on the App Store and Google Play, and people with iPhone and Android can be in the same group.

Can iPhone and Android users be in the same group?

Yes. A group can mix iPhone and Android users with no difference at all.

More on Get the app

Do I need an account?

Yes. You sign in with Google, with Apple or with an email and password. Your account links you to your groups and your plan, even when you change phones.

Which languages is the app available in?

Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

Does the app drain the battery?

Background location always uses some battery. LeMoove uses the phone's motion sensors to update less often while someone is standing still. Real-world usage depends on the phone model and its power-saving mode.

Groups, invites and location

Can I locate a phone just by its number?

No. The person has to install LeMoove, join your group and allow location on their own phone. That's how we make sure nobody is followed without knowing.

Does the person know they're sharing their location?

Yes. They install LeMoove, join the group and allow location on their own phone. iPhone and Android also show when an app is using location.

More on Real-time location

Is the position updated all the time?

While the person is moving, yes. When they're still, the app uses the motion sensors to update less often and save battery. If the phone is offline or off, the map shows the last position received.

More on Real-time location

Can I stop sharing?

Yes. You can leave the group whenever you want, or change the location permission in your phone's settings.

More on Real-time location

Does the invite code expire?

Yes, it stays active for 2 days. After that, the group's admin gets a new one from Share this Group. See the step-by-step guide.

I didn't get the invite code. What now?

Ask whoever created the group to share the code again from the app. You can also create your own group.

More on Get the app

Can I be in more than one group?

On the Free plan, in 1 group. On Basic and Complete, groups are unlimited: one for family, another for friends, another for work.

Who can I chat with?

The people in your LeMoove groups.

More on Chat and calls

Do calls cost extra?

Calls use your phone's internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) and are part of the Complete plan. LeMoove doesn't charge per minute.

Places, alerts and SOS

Does the alert arrive right away?

As soon as the person's phone reports the arrival or departure. On some phones with aggressive power saving, it can take a few minutes.

More on Place alerts

Does the person being followed know?

Places belong to the group, and every member installed the app and allowed location. LeMoove isn't built for following anyone secretly.

More on Place alerts

Why is the minimum radius 200 meters?

Because a phone's GPS can drift by dozens of meters, especially indoors. A tiny radius would trigger false arrivals and departures.

More on Place alerts

Do alerts work on the Free plan?

Automatic alerts are part of the Basic and Complete plans. Place arrival and departure alerts work on every plan.

More on Alerts

Will I get alerts all the time?

No. You only turn on the alerts you want, about the people you want, and set quiet hours. Alerts also have a minimum interval so the same one doesn't keep repeating.

More on Alerts

Do quiet hours delete the alert?

No. During quiet hours your phone won't ring, but the alert is still recorded in the app for you to see later.

More on Alerts

Does LeMoove call the police or an ambulance?

No. SOS alerts the people in your groups. LeMoove isn't an emergency service: if you're in danger, call your local emergency number.

More on SOS button

What if I tap it by accident?

You have 10 seconds to cancel before the call for help is sent.

More on SOS button

Who receives the call for help?

The people you chat with in the app, that is, the members of your groups.

More on SOS button

Trips and driving report

Who can see my history?

People in the groups you share your location with. Anyone who leaves the group stops seeing it.

More on Trip history

Why is part of a trip missing?

When the phone is offline, switched off or the system pauses the app to save battery, that stretch isn't recorded.

More on Trip history

Do I get more days if I change plans?

Your plan sets how many days you can see. Moving to a plan with more days increases the period available.

More on Trip history

Do I need a tracker in the car to get the report?

No. The driving report comes from the driver's phone. A tracker is for seeing the car on the map even when nobody from the group is in it.

More on Driving report

What if I'm a passenger?

A passenger's phone also records the car trip. Check the report of whoever was driving to assess the driving.

More on Driving report

Is the score the same as my car insurance score?

No. It's a LeMoove score, made for families to follow driving. It has nothing to do with insurers.

Vehicles, trackers and tags

Do I need a tracker to follow the car?

To see the car on the map even when nobody from the group is in it, yes: you need a GPS tracker installed in the vehicle and the Complete plan. For now, trackers are supplied by LeMoove with a data SIM included; talk to support to get one. The driving report, on the other hand, comes from the driver's phone.

Do I need a phone inside the car?

No. The tracker has its own GPS and data SIM and sends its position by itself. The driver's phone is only used for the driving report.

More on Vehicles

Does it work on a motorcycle?

Yes. In the app you choose the device type: car, motorcycle, bike and more.

More on Vehicles

Can I use a tracker I already own?

Not for now. Only trackers supplied by LeMoove, which come set up for our server.

More on Vehicles

Can LeMoove block the vehicle remotely?

No. The app shows where the vehicle is, its ignition and trips, and sends alerts. It doesn't offer remote blocking or fuel cut-off.

More on Vehicles

What is virtual ignition?

When the tracker isn't wired to the ignition, it can detect the engine through vibration. It's convenient but less precise than the wire: LeMoove waits about a minute before treating the vehicle as off, to avoid false alerts.

More on GPS tracker

How many trackers can I have?

Up to 5 devices on the Complete plan, trackers and tags combined.

More on GPS tracker

Does the tag show where the item is right now?

No. It shows where your phone (or the phone of whoever it's shared with) last saw it, with the app open. The tag has no GPS or internet.

More on Bluetooth tags

Can I use a tag I already have?

Many generic Bluetooth tags work, because LeMoove uses standard Bluetooth features to beep and read the battery. Tags that only work on their maker's own network can't be added.

More on Bluetooth tags

How many tags can I have?

Up to 5 devices on the Complete plan, tags and trackers combined.

More on Bluetooth tags

Does a Bluetooth tag work for a pet?

Not very well. A tag has no GPS: it only shows up when it passes near your phone with the app open. To find a pet that ran away, a GPS tracker with a SIM is the right choice.

Privacy and security

Can someone follow me without my knowledge?

Not through LeMoove. The app has to be installed on your phone, you have to join a group with the invite code and allow location. iPhone and Android also show when an app uses location. Our terms of use forbid following anyone without their knowledge.

More on Privacy and security

Does someone who leaves the group still see where I am?

No. Your location is only delivered to people who share a group with you at that moment.

More on Privacy and security

Can I use the app without sharing my location all the time?

You can change the permission to “while using the app” in your phone's settings. The system then only lets LeMoove read your position while the app is open, so history and arrival and departure alerts will have gaps while it's closed.

More on Privacy and security

Does LeMoove show ads?

No. The app has no ads and no advertising tools. Location data is used to run the app, as described in the privacy policy.

More on Privacy and security

Who sees my routines and places?

Routines are calculated only for the places of whoever is following, and only for people who share a group with you. A place someone creates isn't shown to other members.

Plans, account and support

How much does it cost?

The price is shown on the App Store or Google Play, in your local currency, before you confirm. It may vary by country.

More on Plans

Does everyone in the family need a subscription?

No. Each account has its own plan: it sets the features you use, like how many places you can create and how many days of history you see.

More on Plans

How do I cancel?

Through the store where you subscribed: in your iPhone settings under Subscriptions, or in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.

More on Plans

Can I get a refund?

Refund requests are handled by the store where you made the purchase (Apple or Google), under each store's rules.

More on Plans

I changed phones. Do I lose my plan?

No. Install the app, sign in with the same account and, in Plans & Subscriptions, tap Restore Purchases. Your groups stay the same.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile and Delete my account. Deletion is permanent and doesn't cancel your store subscription, so cancel it first.

How do I contact support?

By email at app.lemoove@gmail.com or on WhatsApp, using the buttons at the end of this page.

Coming in the next version

When are these features coming?

In an upcoming app update. Until then, they won't appear on your phone.

More on Intelligence

Does LeMoove use artificial intelligence?

Not in the generative AI sense. These are rules about times, places and stays, with limits measured on real data. Every result comes with its reason, so you understand why the app alerted you.

More on Intelligence

Will I get more notifications?

The idea is the opposite. The off-routine alert is optional, Home mode silences irrelevant alerts about people at home, and the weekly summary only goes out if something happened.
