How to use the LeMoove SOS button to ask for help with your location

The SOS button tells the people in your groups that you need help and shows where you are. Learn how to use it and how to cancel an accidental tap.

LeMoove’s SOS button sends a help request, with your location and address, to the people in your groups. It’s worth learning the way there before you need it.

LeMoove doesn’t replace emergency services. If you’re in danger, call your local emergency number.

Before you start

  • SOS is part of the Basic and Complete plans. In the next app update, it becomes part of every plan.
  • You need to be in at least one group with other people.
  • Location must be allowed.

1. Tap SOS

On the main screen, tap the SOS button. An emergency screen opens with a 10-second countdown.

2. Send or cancel

  • To send right away: tap Send Emergency Alert.
  • To send automatically: wait for the countdown to end.
  • If it was an accident: close the screen before the countdown ends. Nothing is sent.

3. What happens next

The screen confirms the alert was sent and that your location went to all your group members.

Each person you chat with in the app receives, in your conversation:

  • the SOS Emergency Alert message;
  • your location when you asked for help, which opens straight on the map;
  • the approximate address.

They get a notification on their phone and can reply in the same conversation.

Prepare your family ahead of time

  • Show everyone in the family where the SOS button is, especially children and older relatives.
  • Agree on what to do when an SOS arrives: call the person, go to them, call emergency services.

What’s coming in the next update

SOS gets follow-up: each request has a state (active, updated, resolved), the position keeps updating while it’s active, and an “I’m safe” button appears. See the SOS button page.

If something doesn’t work

  • The button asks you to subscribe: today, SOS is part of the Basic and Complete plans.
  • Nobody received it: check that you’re in a group with other people and that your phone has internet.
  • Your location didn’t go with it: check that location is allowed for LeMoove in your phone’s settings.
