How to use LeMoove's Walk with me on the way home
Say where you're going and who looks out for you. If the route, a stop or the time goes off plan, they know right away.
Walk with me
Heading home alone at night, hitting the road or crossing town? Say where you're going and who looks out for you. If the route, a stop or the time goes off plan, they know right away, and you answer “I'm okay” with one tap.
On the map or in your Profile, tap Walk with me, then Start a trip. Choose one of your places or a route saved in My routes.
Pick the people from your groups who'll follow along, check the expected arrival time and tap Start.
Left the route, stopped along the way or running late? The people looking out for you get the alert right away, and the app asks you: Are you okay?
Three signs that something may have changed, checked by the server on every position that comes in.
With a saved route, a detour only counts when two positions in a row are far from it, so a GPS wobble doesn't become an alarm. Without a saved route, moving away from the destination is what counts.
A stop of 12 minutes or more away from where you started and where you're going. Traffic lights and the bakery line don't count.
The expected time comes from your earlier trips there. Past it without arriving, the people following along are told.
Your arrival is announced on its own. You can also tap I've arrived or End. With no arrival, the trip ends on its own after 12 hours.
The alert goes straight to the people looking out for you. At the same time your phone asks, and your answer puts everyone at ease.
One tap and the people following along get “replied that everything is okay”. If the detour was on purpose, the rest of the trip is watched by distance from the destination.
Opens SOS, with the 10-second countdown and your location sent to the groups you chose.
Whoever got the alert taps I'm on it: everyone else following along, and you, learn who's handling it, and the repeats stop.
If nobody answers, the alert repeats for the people looking out for you at 15, 45 and 105 minutes. Getting back on the route also helps: they get “is back on the way”.
The trip screen shows where you are and where you're heading, updating on its own as you move.
They see the expected arrival and, if it comes to that, how long you're past it.
“is heading to Home”, “is back on the way”, “arrived”. Everything also stays in Notifications.
Your usual way comes from your own trips. There's no route to trace.
On the timeline or the map of one of your trips, tap Save to Walk with me. It becomes one of My routes.
Took a new way somewhere? When you arrive, the app offers to save the route you just took.
For a place you've never been, choose one of your places. The app watches for you moving away from it, stops and the time.
It alerts the people you chose. If you're in danger, call your local emergency number, or tap I need help to open SOS.
No. It's part of every plan, Free included, just like SOS.
SOS asks for help now. Walk with me is the planned request: you let people know before you leave, and they're only alerted if the route, a stop or the time goes off plan.
Yes. You choose from the people in your groups. They get the alerts and see you on the map while the trip lasts.
Arriving at the destination ends it on its own. If you don't arrive, the trip ends after 12 hours.
